SafeNet: The Survivors Alliance and Franciscan Exchange Network

     SafeNet provides outreach to victims of clergy sexual abuse and works with all wounded parties to keep the focus on healing. SafeNet assists in the grieving and recovery process and provides resources for psychological counseling and referrals for mediation and/or legal counseling. SafeNet sponsors forums, workshops and lectures that encourage understanding and compassion for all who have been directly or indirectly affected by clergy abuse.

Poetry Can:  Promoting Poetry in our Communities 

Instruments of Peace  supports local communities by sponsoring poetry readings, workshops and retreats in which poets are paid for their services. We also provide matching grants  for reading and workshop fees to other poetry event organizers and assist poets engaged in worthy projects as well as those in financial need. This support began in 2009 with sponsorship of the Mission Poetry Series of Santa Barbara, California, and continues to this day.

                       Micro Grants : Small Gifts into Big Dreams

Empowering one person strengthens an entire community  and Instruments of Peace believes small efforts often produce big results. By assisting individuals and groups  with micro grants ($25 - $300) we help people move closer to their goals. Micro grants can also be in the form of material goods, such as bicycles, sewing machines, teachers' supplies, garden tools, infant strollers, etc., all of which contribute directly to a person's livelihood and well being.
